The Price of Praise | ثمن المديح Poem | قصيدة I spoke with kindness and an honest heart, تحدثتُ بلطفٍ وقلبٍ صادق، Believing truth was the noblest art. مؤمنًا أن الصدق هو أسمى الفضائل. I praised another without desire, مدحتُ شخصًا دون مصلحة أو طمع، Only lifting hope a little higher. بل لأرفع الأمل إلى مكانٍ أعلى. Yet the morning brought another name, لكن الصباح حمل قصةً مختلفة، Their honour grew, while I bore the blame. فازدادت كرامتهم، بينما تحملتُ أنا اللوم. Rumours rose like restless air, وانتشرت الشائعات كالريح المضطربة، Though my conscience remained sincere. رغم أن ضميري ظل نقيًا وصادقًا.
