وہ ضمیر جو میں رکھ نہ سکا**

To open the mobile, I feel fear,

موبائل کھولتے ہی دل میں ایک ڈر سا اتر آتا ہے،

As if your presence still waits here,

جیسے تمہاری موجودگی ابھی تک یہیں ٹھہری ہو۔

If you come again, my dear,

اگر تم پھر لوٹ آؤ، اے عزیز،

Will silence break or disappear?

کیا خاموشی ٹوٹے گی یا اور گہری ہو جائے گی؟

Passed the night by only sitting,

ساری رات بس بیٹھے بیٹھے گزر گئی،

Darkness learned my name by dawn.

اندھیرے نے میرا نام یاد کر لیا، صبح تک۔

Time stood still, quietly quitting,

وقت خاموشی میں جیسے تھم سا گیا،

Night grew old, yet I moved on.

رات بوڑھی ہو گئی، مگر میں وہیں رہا۔

What I placed instead of you,

تمہاری جگہ جو رکھا میں نے،

The pronoun slipped, unsure, untrue.

وہ ضمیر خود ہی پھسل گیا، بےیقین، بےنام۔
