When the Anklets Cry When my anklets begin to ring, The world expects my heart to sing, Yet hidden beneath their silver chime, Awaken memories buried by time. Each note they scatter in the air, Returns me to a silent despair, A path once bright with hopeful light, Now lost within the endless night. The bells dance softly around my feet, But sorrow and rhythm strangely meet, For every sound that others praise, Revives forgotten yesterdays.
