In the silence of the midnight sky,
في صمتِ منتصفِ الليلِ والسماء،
I asked the heavens softly, “Why?”
سألتُ السماءَ بهدوء: لماذا؟
“O God, why did You come tonight,
يا الله، لماذا جئتَ في هذه الليلة؟
When I was sleeping beside my own,
حين كنتُ نائمًا بجانب أحبّتي؟
The moon stood pale, the stars were still,
كان القمرُ شاحبًا والنجومُ ساكنة،
As if the universe had paused its will,
كأنّ الكونَ أوقفَ أنفاسه للحظة.
The rain arrived like hidden tears,
جاء المطرُ مثل دموعٍ خفيّة،
Washing away forgotten fears,
يغسلُ مخاوفًا نسيها القلب.
I asked the wind about Your way,
سألتُ الريحَ عن طريقك،

لماذا تتوه الأرواحُ ليلًا ونهارًا؟
Perhaps darkness is not the end,
ربما الظلامُ ليس النهاية،
Perhaps broken hearts can still mend,
وربما القلوبُ المكسورةُ تُشفى يومًا.
O God, if You walk beside me now,
يا الله، إن كنتَ تسيرُ بجانبي الآن،
Teach this restless soul somehow,
فعلّم هذه الروحَ القلقةَ السلام.
Do not leave me lost in rain,
لا تتركني تائهًا وسط المطر،
For lonely nights deepen pain,
فإن الليالي الوحيدة تُضاعف الألم.
Yet if Your road is not for me,
وإن لم يكن طريقك طريقي،
Then let my spirit wander free,
فاتركْ روحي تحلّق بحريّة.

وجاء الفجرُ بنوره الهادئ،
