The Wedding Procession of Lost Time Poem Beneath the trembling moon of sorrow, I stood beside a silent door, Waiting for footsteps made of tomorrow To return to me once more. “Come now,” my weary spirit cried, “With wedding lights and songs untold, Do not leave my heart denied Inside another life grown cold.” The night was dark like buried pain, Its roads were wrapped in ash and fear, And every drop of hidden rain Whispered, “Love may disappear.” O shadowed lane, O endless black, Do not repeat the wounds of fate, Do not drag my soul back To a life that came too late. For once I loved with trembling hands, Yet destiny remained apart, The stars dissolved like broken sands Inside the deserts of my heart. Now bring the procession near to me, With lanterns glowing soft and bright, Let this wounded spirit be free From the prisons of the night.
