Upon the roofs of broken stone,

It claims no nest, it calls no home.

A wanderer in twilight’s hue,

It sings a song not sweet, but true.

Its sound, though rough, still marks the day,

A constant voice that will not sway.

Unloved, unseen, it lives apart,

Yet holds a place in nature’s heart.

The poem describes the crow as a simple but significant bird. Though its sound is unpleasant to human ears, it still has a role in the balance of nature.
